The Green Wave Women’s Basketball team will end 2016 and pre-conference games in the next few weeks and begin AAC play. Women’s Hoops played a strong pre-conference schedule in preparation for the grueling American schedule. The team looks to continue their streaks of seven – seven straight trips to the postseason and seven consecutive 20+ win seasons.
The strength of the squad to this point of the season is the experience of the starting guard’s play. So far this season junior Kolby Morgan and seniors Leslie Vorpahl and Courtnie Latham lead the Green Wave in scoring and minutes. Rounding out the starters are sophomores F/G Meredith Schulte and center Harlyn Wyatt.
The 5-4 Wave has four more non-conference contests to play before starting their AAC conference schedule against ECU on December 31. Winning three of four remaining non-conference games would help propel the Green Wave into AAC play and increase the likelihood of extending the streaks of seven to streaks of eight.
What are your thoughts, as the Women’s team finishes out 2016 and their pre-conference schedule? Does the streak of seven straight trips to the postseason and seven consecutive 20+ win seasons continue?
